The short version: we collect what's needed to match you with great sitters and process bookings safely — nothing more. We never sell your data, your messages stay private, and your address is only shared with a sitter after you book.
Who we are
TinyPaws ("we," "us") is a marketplace that matches chihuahua owners with breed-savvy pet sitters. This policy applies to the TinyPaws iOS app for both owners and sitters.
What we collect
Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo.
Dog profile: your dog's name, photos, and temperament details (e.g., "shy with strangers," "gets cold easily") used for matching.
Location: your approximate location (city/area) to show nearby sitters. Your exact address is only shared with a sitter after a confirmed booking.
Sitter verification: for sitters, identity verification information and any certifications (e.g., pet first-aid) submitted for trust badges.
Messages: chats between owners and sitters, stored to deliver the conversation and to help resolve disputes if needed.
Bookings and payments: booking history and payment status. Payments are processed by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers.
Device and usage data: basic technical data (device type, app version, crash reports) used to keep the app working well.
How we use it
To match dogs with compatible sitters based on temperament and location.
To process bookings, hold payments securely, and pay sitters.
To verify sitter identity and display earned trust badges.
To deliver messages and daily photo updates between owners and sitters.
To handle support requests and resolve booking disputes.
To keep the marketplace safe, including fraud prevention.
What we never do
We never sell or rent your personal information.
We never show third-party ads in the app.
We never share your exact address before you confirm a booking.
We never read your messages except where needed to investigate a reported safety issue or dispute, or as required by law.
Sharing between users
Because TinyPaws is a marketplace, some information is visible to other users by design: your first name, profile photo, dog profile, temperament chips, ratings, and reviews. Sitter profiles additionally show verification badges, response rates, and booking counts. You control what goes in your profile.
Third-party services
Apple — App Store distribution and in-app purchase processing for the optional Sitter Pro subscription.
RevenueCat — subscription management for Sitter Pro.
Payment processor — secure booking payments and sitter payouts.
Each provider only receives the minimum data needed to do its job.
Storage and security
Your data is stored securely and encrypted in transit. Payment information is handled by PCI-compliant providers. We retain booking and payment records as required for tax, legal, and dispute-resolution purposes; other data is kept only as long as your account is active.
Your rights
Access, export, or correct your information at any time.
Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by email. We complete deletion within 30 days, except records we're legally required to keep (e.g., completed payment records).
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to deletion. Since we do not sell personal information, no opt-out is needed.
Children
TinyPaws is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
